Homemade BBQ Meatballs

Homemade BBQ Meatballs Recipe

There are some meals that please everyone all the way around, and my homemade BBQ Meatballs is one of them. I once served store bought meatballs for dinner and no one was impressed.

A little more elbow grease goes into making the homemade version, but watching my guys gobble them down is worth it to me.

We love BBQ Meatballs served over egg noodles, but you could also serve them alone, over rice or on sandwiches. If you wanted, you could also skip the BBQ sauce part of the recipe and add the meatballs to pasta sauce, soup or stew.

BBQ Meatballs are Freezer Friendly!

Another thing I love about this recipe for BBQ Meatballs is they’re freezer friendly. Just follow the recipe to make the meatballs and skip the sauce.

Flash freeze the meatballs in a single layer and then transfer them to a resealable freezer bag.

When ready to eat, remove the meatballs, make the sauce and bake according to instructions. You don’t even have to thaw them out, but you may need to cook them at a lower temperature for a little longer.

If you wanted to go ahead and make the sauce for the freezer too, just freeze it in a resealable freezer bag and pack in the same bag as you store the meatballs. Run under hot water from the faucet to thaw quickly.

And of course, bottled sauce helps this dinner make it to the table a whole lot quicker if you’re in a rush.
