diy vanilla chai scrub with essential oils

If you love the spicy smell of chai and the way your skin feels after using a body scrub, then you simply must try this DIY Vanilla Chai Scrub with essential oils.

Now, I know what you may be thinking….”like I have time for DIY beauty products, I barely have time in the day to squeeze in a shower”. But you do have time! Trust me. This Vanilla Chai Scrub recipe calls for just 3-4 ingredients and takes just minutes to make, like less than 5 minutes!

All you have to do is brew up some Vanilla Chai tea and let cool. You can fit this into any part of your day. Then mix together coconut oil and epsom salt and add in the cooled tea. Add a few drops of essential oil (or not, this part is totally optional) and you’re done.

I wrote this recipe to include orange essential oil, but you can substitute any other oil you like better that complements the spicy scent of the chai. Other options might include lemon, lemongrass, cedarwood or maybe cinnamon.

If you do opt for a hotter oil like cinnamon or peppermint, I would cut back on how many drops you use as these are very strong oils. And if you use a citrus oil, remember that they are photosensitive, so avoid direct sun exposure for a few hours after use.

This recipe makes about a cup of scrub and you can store it in a mason jar or other sealed container in a cool place for a up to two weeks.

This is a perfect DIY project to gift or use as a party favor for a girls’ night out or spa party. Just be sure to include instruction for storage and shelf life.
